29.10.2008 THAI lowers fuel surcharge

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited has introduced further reductions to its fuel surcharge for passengers traveling on THAI's network in addition to an already announced cut.

Effective from 15 October 2008, there will be a further reduction of 15 % on regional routes and 10% on intercontinental routes when traveling on THAI's global network, which services 72 destinations in 35 countries.

In early October, Mr. Pandit Chanapai, THAI's Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, announced that THAI was lowering the fuel surcharge on all of its international and domestic flights. The reduction was as high as 30% on some routes, applying to point-to-point travel.

The latest discount offer means passengers traveling Los Angeles-Bangkok-Jakarta would pay a lowered fuel surcharge of USD 310.- instead of USD 353.- when calculated in two separate sectors.

With the fleet of 81 aircraft, THAI will continue to enhance its global route operation. Most of the aircraft have been refurbished with increased seat comfort and a wide variety of in flight entertainment programmes. Improvements have been made on all aspects of customer service to appeal not only to premium class but to economy class passengers as well.
